don't expect anything from kids , complete your responsibility as it is you who brought them into this world

it is not a zero sum game

you will miss a lot in these 5 years , you 'may' be able to earn money in future but you will never be able to spend time with your kids as they will grow up , you will also lose attachment and they may have daddy/mommy issues growing up , they will also have more attachment with grandparents ather than with you

finally to your question , it is a very bad idea to keep kids somewhere other than with you

also , no matter who they are (even your parents) they may not care for the kid as much as you , this is something you should keep in mind always..
