Ee Americans matta bee dhakaru. Mana desi MS poragalle ee certifications kooda complete chesi join avutharu. Or IT workers from India will do. Going foward andhari CVs lo certification from Google/Apple ani untadhi.

May be.

It will still encourage Americans because of the costs - college education does cost 100 grand or more and some people wouldn’t want to pay that much. I mean some of the companies have to fill up their american quota and cheap costs of these certifications would mean them being hired. The costs of getting a h1b to the US is a lot more if you think about it. A simple certification and their position is filled.

Not so much anymore. Due to tech shortage among local citizens and permanent residents most companies these days are willing to consider cerification and experience in place of degree.

This is the end of the road for a lot of h4 EADs mainly but also H1Bs who are into manual testing etc or other such redundant work.

Exceptions could be there but most companies have basic degree in their job posting it self .  Contracting light but FT it wont work that way in most companies.

engineering teaches morethan mere coding

its subject

i still remember my engineering subjects

its different feeling

ofcourse depends on intrests though

True, but a lot of the kids here are out of their homes after high school and they live independently. It is a good income for them if you think about it. If there are positions that require a bachelors degree then fine, but if all these companies come together and have policies like this one then they will be changing how the job market behaves. They have advertised that a data analyst gets paid 66000 - a job that an OPT or an h4 EAD could take. When a lot of these guys are trained then the probability of them getting hired is more than what it is now. In the long run, hiring an h1b wouldn’t be appealing to them. Engineering feels interesting to us because we went through the process. May be we are just nostalgic about it.

That is true for Indians and I don’t think many Indian firms would take out that filter. However, the reality for kids growing up here is very different. A fair few don’t go to college. They will have direct access to the “ college fresher” market.
