Ryzen_renoir
This will be common all around the world , as climate change increases rain will be c in short heavy bursts . A city with ancient storm water drains cannot cope unless all political parties and courts can clear the encroachments . I don't see any political party in india willing to tackle this subject at all , those who say they will fix this issue without a long-term plan are just bullshitting . Ryzen_renoir
In 2015 along with Chennai floods , nellore also got same amount of rain and all low lying areas were submerged . Nellore has a natural advantage against flooding because it has a network of canals , a huge lake and a river to drain the flood water . Even if we receive 100 cm of rain in a week , it should all easily flow out but over the last 30 years almost all the canals were encroached by both rich and poor Chandrababu , Narayana and few other ministers stayed in city for almost a week and said we will clear all encroachments on canals . They had the backing of center , courts , power in state and even most of the public and yet they haven't taken action on a single encroacher CBN is supposed to be the most forward looking , development oriented administrator compared to YCP which relies on appeasing . If such a progressive government with huge influence in the courts can't fix a popular demand then forget a large , complex city like Hyderabad will ever have enough infrastructure to tackle floods

Mean sea level ki 4-5 meters lo vunde Bombay lo water logging avuthe, justified uh ? Dude, Places like Chennai and Mumbai are the ones which should not be having any kind of water logging issues...barely 4-5 meters above mean sea level and a natural drain system in place.. Hyd, geographically 200m nundi 800 m varaku vary avutuadi, poor planning ani justify evadu cheyatledu...when we know it’s already poor planning, what is the point of criticizing everytime when it rains ? All that we need to do is stay home or indoors for few hours till a permanent solution is found...or get used to it...
