Polio virus affects infect and kids below 3 hardly and the virus doesn't mutate much, also as part of immunization schedule polio vaccine is give 4 does with-in 5 years, on top of the Govts of countries like India was doing additional 4 schedules in a year earlier as pulse polio program, and then the pulse polio program made 3 times a year and then now once a year on a mass scale for all below 5 yrs kids, this is on top of 4 doses of polio vaccine that kids get thru their pediatricians as part of the regular immunization schedule. Coming to covid this is a respiratory illness causing virus much similar to flu virus. If one flu shot or at least two consecutive year flushots works and make anyone get rid of flu forever then its possible for vaccine for this covid also.
