@Spartan baa question about tax loss harvesting

lets say 2023 lo 20k stock loss with no profit.......2024 lo 30k stock profit...with no loss

for 2023 tax filling we can only deduct 3k loss from total income

for 2024 tax filling, which of the below is true?

1. 30k profit from 2024 - remaining 17k loss from 2023 = pay tax on 13k profit

2. 30k profit from 2024 - 3k yearly loss carry forward from 2023 (still 14k loss left to carry forward for future years) = pay tax on 27k profit

@meranaam  ne example lo.

2023 lo if total is net loss of 20K, then you can use that in two ways.

1 - for 2023 tax year lower your taxable income all together by 20K, by using entire capital loss.

2 - capital loss carryover....nuvvu cheppinattu...3K every year reduce cheskuntu vellochu until you exhaust your 20K.

nenu usual ga same tax year lo use cheskunta loss, instead of doing tax loss harvesting. ado tala noppi untadi.. every year tax time lo...gurtu lekapote assame.

instead some people do capital loss harvesting by selling stocks for loss in december.

In my above example case lo....2024 tax return appudu....i cannot harvest the entire remaining 2023 loss in 2024 (i.e. 30k profit from 2024 - 17k loss from 2023)?

Also in you point-1 what does this mean?

"lower your taxable income all together by 20K, by using entire capital loss"
