We move all our old 401k once we leave employer into Vanuard/Fidelity and both allow to trade individual stocks and leveraged ETF's like TQQQ, UPRO. I haven't looked at options though. There are pros and cons, you can't take losses too, I sold TDOC for loss in retirement account and can't claim it. Also one needs to have lot more restraint playing with retirement accounts especially if you are counting on it for retirement. In our case, probably we won't be using any of our stock portfolio for retirement. 1
