Shweta Basu Prasad is mostly remembered for her superhit debut film, Kotha Bangaru Lokam. She mesmerized the audience with her cute smile and beautiful eyes as a college student. This award-winning child actress made her role as a teenager very lovable, innocent, and energetic.

In 2018, the actress got married to Rohit Mittal, a filmmaker and unfortunately, she had to part her ways with her husband just a month after her wedding. Now, the actress has opened up about the divorce saying that it felt more like a break up. Because the newly-wed couple had split up in just 30 days, the actress feels that she hardly experienced any divorce but merely a breakup.

Shwetha said that her family supported her a lot in this ordeal and is blessed to have such a great family. She confessed that she was very sad about the divorce but it was nothing nasty about it. “I see couples who date together for ten days, but get separated. So, the fact that Rohit and I separated after only 6-8 months made it feel simply like a breakup. Divorce may sound like a big word in our case”.

The actress took to Instagram in 2019 to publicly announce her separation from Rohit. She wrote in her post that they have mutually decided to part and end their marriage. “ Thank you Rohit for the irreplaceable memories and always inspiring me. Have a great life ahead, forever your cheerleader,” she wrote.

Now the actress is once again busy with acting as she is doing a film under Madhur Bhandarkar’s director post lockdown. The film is all about how sex workers had to suffer during the pandemic and how their business faced losses. With four interconnected stories, the film talks about the impact of lockdown on the livelihoods of sex workers in Mumbai. The story will have Shwetha in a sex-worker role and she also visited Mumbai’s red-light area, Kamathipura, along with Bhandarkar as a part of her research for the character.
