Fraaaxy call lo dorikipoina udantam - Blind stories

Was interviewing a candidate today for a contractor position from a Staffing company.
Initial red flags: No last name, no university.

Proceeds to interview.
Video on in a zoom call. But we can't hear each other.
I ask for phone number to talk.
Another red flag: Different phone number from the resume

We jump on a call.
I can hear her just fine. But the video is turned on and that person is not moving at all. That person is sitting still.
I try to catch them off guard by asking if they are wearing a wrong colored jacket. They respond correctly.

Probably meant that they are in on it.
I asked if she was holding up a "peace" sign. She seemed angry.

I call staffer.
Lady on video gets a phone call, I hear that just fine. I start laughing.

I can't believe that in my 3 months of interviewing candidates, I find a scammer.
Made my whole week.

So, takeaways.
Always turn on video.
Lie better.

Ps, from the word Jugaad, you kinda have to know it was an Indian.
And no, I'm not at GrubHub anymore.

Have you seen a scammer?

One of the replies

“Trying to cheap out by hiring contractors and then complaining about getting scammed. 🤣 You reap what you sow. Aint no free lunches in life.”
