Soak bheeyam ravva(idly ravva) for 30mins and wash it thoroughly. Squeeze the ravva and add it to urad dal batter, mix well with hand and ferment it overnight. madras idly - soak 1 cup of urad dal, 4 cups of idly rice separately and add 1 tsp of menthulu. Soak them for 6 hours and grind them separately. Mix them both with hand and ferment overnight. I keep both the batters overnight in oven with light on. 2 Quote

Add ATUKULU for soft idlies ..here is the perfect recipe for both idly n dosa. 3 cups rice, 1 cup urad dal 1 cup atukulu and half table spoon menthulu ...
