What happened in Hyderabad when Razakars showed their ugly side is nothing short of barbarism. Hundreds of villages looted and Hindu women raped mercilessly. Most of it happened in what is today TG. Reason for merger with Andhra state is also to wipe out their influence if there was any or if something happened in the future. Even setting it up as a state was difficult. Moreover, Hyderabad’s case was with the UN Security Council until 1979 so merging with Andhra meant merging with India. It was simply strategic.
