With the Covid cases dipping across the state, the Andhra Pradesh government has reopened the public schools this morning. AP CM YS Jagan himself visited the Pothavaram ZP High School in P Gannavaram mandal, East Godavari district to launch the second phase of Nadu-Nedu scheme.

Pleasantly surprising the students and teachers, Jagan turned teacher, as he took a chalk piece and wrote “All the very best” on the green board. He later visited all the classrooms and the kitchen and interacted with the students and teachers. He sat on the bench next to a student and enquired the staff about the various facilities and the mid-day meal food menu the school management is providing to the students.

Not stopping there, Jagan also checked the quality of the school uniform, shoes and books being provided to the students by the government. He carried a school bag on his shoulder to check its quality himself.

Prior to the reopening, nearly 15,715 public schools have been renovated at a cost of Rs 3,669 crore as part of Mana Badi and Nadu-Nedu schemes. The interiors, facilities and other infrastructure have been upgraded on par with corporate schools. The CM also flagged off the second phase of Jagan Anna Vidya Kanuka scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 731.30 crore.
