How do you get cities to ban cars?

simple. Stop funding cities with state and federal money, and place a debt limit of 20% on its revenue.

1. cities will be forced to raise their revenue instead of being a parasite on the federal govt

2. use all that space to build actual housing that people can live, instead of for bs car parkings

3. cities can even do away with mandatory parking space for multi home residence - extra revenue

If the city doesn't want to do any of the above, its residents can pay obscene property taxes to cover their maintenance expenses.

most cities will automatically go bankrupt.  especially in the US/Canada.
