Fact?

Artificial habitats,  space stations , underground tunnel cities, underwater habitats...all are a possibility if something really bad happens to earth.

Another species ruling earth is not a possibility as long as humans exist.

You guys should understand that science achieved a lot in last 200 years. Give them 1000 or 2000 more and just imagine the capabilities.

Humans must overcome organic limitations to survive cosmic events.

I believe the ultimate evolution is turning lifeforms into machine like bodies that can withstand extreme environments

@Ellen @tennisluvrredux @dasari4kntr what say you?

you do understand that we track all objects (meteors and comets included)
which might come towards earth . they can be deflected and destroyed if needed. we have the tech to design such kind of mission even today.

ofcourse it is indifferent. does not mean that it is destined to wipe us off. difference between us and dinosaurs is that we can see what is happening and take steps.

i cant think of any event that can wipe every single human from earth. even if small group survive , they will again thrive

You are comparing very small timeline of human civilization…with bigger timeline of earth…

humans may foresee some of the threats…but not all….

Even today… intelligent humans dont have proper tools to explore deep sea or work in absolute zero temperature…etc

some of these tools not possible also because humans has certain boundaries in this nature..

we are intelligent and powerful but not superior than nature…

you may think living in other planets is one option…but to reach to other planets or other solar systems our earth should have enough resources…first…

i am just saying that we as species that are hard to eliminate completely. there was never a species like us in the 5 billion history of earth.

there might be unknown threats....but we also dont know how much we will expand and how science will change us in future.

i dont buy the notion that we will be doomed for sure if we dont know what can cause it. is there a probability ...maybe yes...but is it certain...definitely not.
