The CBI has filed its counter petition and also done with its arguments before the Telangana High Court in connection with AP CM YS Jagan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case. Yet again CBI reiterated that Jagan should not be given exemption from making personal appearances.

“Jagan is in a bigger position and now there are even better chances of influencing the witnesses in this case. For the same reasons, earlier the CBI court had declined to give Jagan any exemption and so he approached the High Court,” argued the CBI before the top court.

The probe agency further said that it’s been almost a decade that the cases are filed and they are still in the ‘Discharge Petition’ stage and if personal exemption is granted, the investigation would take much longer than anticipated.

After CBI wrapped up its arguments, the Telangana High Court reserved its verdict. It is likely to announce it in a day or two.

Earlier YS Jagan filed a petition requesting the court to relieve him from making personal presence. He added that if he attends courts five days a week, the AP state of affairs would go haywire since he is the Chief Minister and requires a lot of time heading the government.
