unless people get to use it widely, there wont be much innovation in this area.

remember how the computer era looked like when it was just the academics and industry who used it.

There were a lot of innovations in computers in 70s in computers, but capitalists just picked the winners and homogenized the field. spurring other kind of innovation, like in chip design. while improving access to the general public that spurred innovation in other areas like web.

there's nothing to worry. body hacking is the future.

neuralink (the way Elon Musk presents it) antha bs tech. lite. Elon Musk is doing these stunts to hype up his personal brand. nothing more. Otherwise its an interesting area to work on. but far too away from usable right now.

there's a ban on gene editing of human embryos on pretty much every country, except US, UK, France and in Asia. Even these countries ban allowing the embryo to mature.

but unless these experiments are allowed.. and the results clinically and socially assessed, the fears are all unfounded. I don't think intelligence can be manipulated by genes. because knowledge is collective, and ability to interpret it may have a few genetic factors tied to it. It'll be interesting to see what is true and false.
