Today Chairman Mr Nandamuri Balakrishna Garu met a child master Yashwanth, a patient of Dr.

@veerendra_patil

. Yaswanth was diagnosed with a rare disease known as Fanconi anaemia. It is a genetic disorder that makes the body susceptible to blood problems and other issues (1/4)

 

 

 

He came to our institution with advanced bone marrow failure leading to a pre-cancerous stage (myelodysplastic syndrome). In Fanconi anemia body cells become very sensitive and they don’t tolerate the chemotherapy which is needing to treat this condition. (2/4)

 

 

It needs a fine-tuning and precise planning of chemotherapy drugs to treat these special children. As the patient comes from a poor economic background, the cost of the treatment was adjusted from Basavatarakam Childhood Cancer Fund along with Aarogya Sri. (3/4)

 

the total cost of the treatment was above 20 lakhs. He has undergone BMT successfully and is recovering. This is possible due to all our generous donors, Board Members, Management and the efforts put in by our doctors and staff. (4/4)
