How do you know they are not happy?? They told you?? You will find very few desi people  who will say that they are happy with what they earned…. It doesn’t mean they are not happy… it is just that their goal post has moved and are working towards their next goal..

Because at that time, they were barely making enough for living expenses. Even if they are earning more, there is no scope to spend ... Only movies .. No restaurants etc
