Taking everyone by surprise, the Andhra Pradesh government had announced that the movie tickets should be sold as per the fares fixed by them. No government had done that before. Not just that, the government even said that the tickets should be sold online and a facility will be brought soon to facilitate the service.

The decision had led to a big controversy with many Tollywood members raising their voices against this. A few like Pawan Kalyan and Natural Star Nani had urged the government to not cause trouble for the industry which was already impacted by the Covid.

The then Cinematography Minister Perni Nani could not do much on the issue. The help he made to the industry was to arrange a meeting with CM Jagan. The issue was partially addressed with the government saying that big-ticket films can increase ticket prices.

Now Perni Nani is no longer a Cinematography Minister and the post is now taken by Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopal Krishna, who took oath the other day.

As he is the concerned Minister now, it is interesting to see what he can do in this matter. Can he do what Perni Nani was unable to do? Only time will have an answer to this. Let us wait and see what the new Cinematography Minister has to offer.
