If you are lucky enough and got selected for IRS audit then you might get caught. You will be charged with fraud and tax evasion. 
 

These days banks are not accepting cash payments if you don’t have checking account with them, you need to get cashier check.

Request/convince them that you'll give then cash say 2k for each guy and they pay off our credit card bill for the next 4 to 5 months. 

Later on eye-are-Yes vallu question chesthe you can say they borrowed some money for personal use from you, you helped them when they needed money in the past 3 or 4 years and they are repaying you back now.
