With just about one and a half years left for the next general elections, Telangana politics are already heating up with each passing day. The ruling TRS party has been launching fiery attacks especially against its main opponent, the BJP, which is being strongly fought back by the saffron party on a daily basis.

The intense war of words between TRS and BJP seems to have entered a crucial phase now. While TRS supremo KCR has taken a back seat, his son and TRS Working President KTR has become the face of the Gulabi party. KTR is spearheading a full-fledged attack on the BJP through media interviews that have become a hot topic in Telangana politics.

While Telangana BJP leaders have been targeting KTR since a long time, AP BJP leaders too have joined the bandwagon now. In a recent interview, BJP MP from AP GVL Narasimha Rao slammed KTR and said that KTR’s recent verbal attack on PM Modi was due to the growing popularity of BJP in Telangana and South India. “KTR is afraid of the BJP Bulldozer which is going to storm Telangana and also end KTR’s political future,” GVL said in the interview.

The BJP MP went on to say that KTR’s comments against Modi even though BJP government is assisting Telangana in all possible ways only reflect the TRS minister’s insecurities. AP BJP President Somu Veerraju was the next BJP leader to join the party’s counter attack on TRS.

Addressing the media in Chittoor, Somu said that BJP treats KTR like a kid. Somu went on to accuse KTR of resorting to murky politics under in his father’s shadow. “KTR doesn’t have the stature to criticise Modi or the BJP,” said the AP BJP chief. Well, going by both these BJP leaders’ statements, they surely seem to have accepted KTR as a major force to confront in the upcoming general elections.
