The AP government had dropped the Dulhan scheme. The AP government has told the high court that it is suspending the Dulhan scheme. It has informed the court that the scheme was discontinued due to financial difficulties. 

During the 2019 election campaign, Jagan had promised to increase the financial assistance to Rs 1 lakh to young Muslim women from poor families at the time of their wedding under the ‘Dulhan’ scheme. Under the TDP regime, the women were being given ₹50,000. However, the scheme has now been completely withdrawn

A petition has been filed in the High Court alleging that the Jagan government ignored the scheme.
