They all are different language speakers. i dont think all cholas are tamil. Vengi cholas were telugu speakers. Chola is like a title of king - not tamils necessarily.

but atleast we will know the characters....and time line..

It’s not a history. It’s just fictional story with historic names. 
 

the writer wrote this like novel in 1950’s and initially it got printed in newspapers/weekly.
