Not just Indian establishment, Governments all over the world encourage sports to maintain the spirit of nationalism and the morale of people. As Indian Governments after Independence neglected sports, people chose cricket which can be played in streets keeping bricks as wickets and any wooden bar or even coconut leaf for bat. gilli karra, 7 penkulu laanti alternatives unna avi national sports aduthunna feel ivvavu.

Instead of crying over cricket, Government should develop play grounds, provide facilities and encourage more sports. roti, kapda, aur makaan ani edusthu kurchunte inko 100 years tarvatha kooda ilaage untam.

repeat what? I think the construct of a nation is evil. every nation is evil, and people who believe in such constructs are either dumbfcuks or evil.

I'm not trying to control people or influence them. so what should I repeat in front of a mirror?

kho kho is nice game, iam missing it.. professional level lo encourage cheste super untadi

what's the economics of supporting a stupid sport like kabaddi professionally? kho kho is even worse than that.

it can't even fill a badminton size stadium.

plus I don't understand the point of 'encouraging' sports, as if there are not already enough worthless psychos in society like starblazer. we are deliberately hyping up some individuals based on their capacity to do one particular thing very well into demi god status.

for what?

atleast a runner/athlete can be encouraged, when he's pushing the limits of human body to achieve speeds or endurance. what do these sportsmen achieve? I see just a lot of waste of resources and the only positive seems to be like the self declared wise asshole @Starblazer claims - distraction of people from the hole govt got them into with their policies. So people don't fight with each other over silly things, which is entirely plausible.
