Last year everyone was excited about the World Cup match between India and Pakistan in Dubai. All the build up - baap baap hota hai, mauka mauka...
When the match started, India's top order failed. Rohit Sharma as usual was so fat that he could not bend in time. KL Rahul was as usual a flop show. India could never recover from the early blows.
Then, even though Kohli was out of form, he managed to score a slow 50.
Babar Azam and Rizwan batted really well and in the end India lost the match by all 10 wickets. No bowler could take a single wicket.

Immediately after the match, there were abuses hurled at Mohammad Shami. Particularly being called a Pakistani because he is Muslim.
Then during the press conference, someone asked captain Kohli about his reaction on Shami's bullying. The media manager wanted Kohli to avoid the question but he said No - and he strongly condemned any personal attack on Mohammad Shami.

This secular position taken by the India captain didn't go down well with those who run the game. Within a few months, Kohli was sacked from all three formats. He was shaken and shocked, it was as if he was even struggling to hold a bat. His form dipped for months. Shami was dropped from the Indian T20 side.

Months later, Shami worked hard and was one of the top performers during IPL, helping Gujarat Lions win the IPL as their top wicket taker. But he was never taken back into the side.

During the Asia Cup this year, India again played Pakistan twice, winning the first game and then losing the second game to Pakistan. Arshdeep Singh unfortunately dropped a catch.

What followed was another round of widespread abuse against a minority player - calling him a Khalistani.

Today, India played Pakistan again.

The same 'Khalistani' Arshdeep Singh destroyed the Pakistani top order, sending both Babar and Rizwan back for almost nothing. When Iftekhar counter-attacked Axar Patel with three sixes in an over, Shami came back and removed Iftekhar, shifting the momentum back into India's favour.

Finally, during India's batting, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma once again did nothing.

But Virat Kohli came off age. The loud, brash, expressive, shouting Kohli has now made way for a Kohli who is humble and filled with gratitude.

Indian Cricket board and some of its followers did everything to destroy him and the team's secular fabric. But today's victory is a slap on the face of all those people who don't accept diversity as India's super power.

What a beautiful game we had today. The better team won.

There are always people on the fringe who has extreme views.. news media and social media now amplifies their voice to great proportions than their actual numbers, just to get views and make money.. social media and news media became very bad to the society..
