Buy top grain leather .. unless you cut it with knife leather paadavadhu .. not bonded or faux leather .. buy genuine leather

In USA, leather is used very loosely.

Genuine leather is not leather.

full leather is top quality leather - very expensive. High end furniture only.

Go for top grain leather, which is next. Even that is expensive. Costo sells some. .

Ashley and run of the mill stores say genuine leather - top layer will come off in few years. If you are okay with it, go for it.

because bob  , ashley etc sell fake leather products. Either they are not leather or very cheap leather coating on top of rexine.

If you can afford, buy leather sectional or couches from costco - especially at store. They have in store display every 3 months or so. Look for top grain leather or full grain leather in description. Keep the receipts. If something happens you have about 7 years to get it repaired or return.

You can also buy from costo online - again look for leather type. You won't go wrong with Costco. You can call them even after 10 years and ask for help.
