The problem now is we are seeing more and more fraudulent students that are coming here with fake  GRE scores ,  fake resumes etc and they are taking away opportunities from honest local students.

two decades ago when we came here to study this kind of fraud wasn’t there and only students with good caliber used to come to US .

Now every Tom , Dick and Harry comes here and by hook or crook they want to get a job here even if it means using corrupt methods.

Local Desi students who grew up here also have student loans and their parents have mortgages to pay .

where will they go?

Blame it on ETS and USCIS. This information is in public domain since time immemorial. Yet, they dont do anything about it. Also, there are genuine students even today. They might comprise around 40% of the total incoming students.

I agree there are genuine students too and they are not the problem. This country needs fresh talent and they are definitely needed here.

These universities are facing financial struggles after Covid Fiasco. Student enrollment is not picking up yet. It is still going down every year. Thanks to hatred spewed at universities by conservative media. 

At this point, universities desperately need some monetary fuel to survive. 

 

 Actually, the victims here are international students and their families.
