But nobody would term him as a mass leader. After 2004 win, he managed to give decent performance as a CM. His populous schemes made him close to masses. Lastly, his sudden demise took his popularity to a different level. YSR was a mass leader even before that bro. He was looked upon as a hero in Rayaseema region. He fought for water projects and did Padayatras as well. He had good connect with people. Being Young and rebellious worked in his favor. 1999-2004 - Just elevated to next level fighting against CBN during that period. Rest is history. Jalagam Vengal Rao very good administrator. Arjun Singh won MP elections twice. Indira immediately shifted him to Delhi. She played politics very well. Sonia ki adhi raledhu….
