ANUP DESAI --- THE NEW FACE IN AMERICAN IDOL

Anoop "Dog" Desai is one of the 13 finalists on FOX's "American Idol 8."  Anoop Desai was in the first group of 12 contestants to perform out of the top 36 . On the wild card show, the judges changed the 'Top 12' to the 'Top 13'; to save Anoop Desai from sending home. His performance was not satisfying after he was saved by the judges. Then he made a brilliant come back with this southwest musical touch and today he is in the top 10.

He  is working on his master's degree at the University of North Carolina. Anoop Desai is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and  is 21 years old.
