since spring is internally servlet....u need to call servlet (getServletContext( ).)  any more ...you can simply use 

 

getServerInfo() ..host

If the application is running in the local server I do not want to send email while if the application is running in the test/prod servers need to enable the email functionality. Could you pls tell me how to distinguish in java app the server is hosted on localhost or other machines?

Let me know if u need sendEmail code .. Use javaMail API ...

Spring framework lo implement cheyyali ante try this .. We implemented this recently http://docs.spring.io/spring/docs/2.0.x/reference/mail.html

This is very much similar to sending email using javaMail lib ..
