Jilla’s opening was very massive as expected and here are the box office results for the first weekend of this Vijay starrer.

Having grossed 2.65 crores at the Chennai box office, its collections in the other markets including overseas is said to be 29 croes. Interestingly, the film has taken a very good opening in Kerala as well.

"Jilla", which released in more than 1,000 screens worldwide, received positive reviews from both critics and audience.

Positive word of mouth will help "Jilla" do fantastic business and mint good collections in its opening weekend. As the 10-day Pongal holidays have begun, "Jilla" is expected to continue its successful run for another week.

Directed by RT Neason, "Jilla" is an action drama that revolves around the bonding between Vijay and Mohanlal. After a short gap, Vijay is back to doing mass, masala entertainers. "Jilla" has all the commercial elements - action, comedy, romance and emotion. Both Vijay and Mohanlal's performances have received appreciation from all quarters.
