ARYA
Vizag is the only big city in East coast india which is in safe zone. Chennai , vijayawada, bhubaneswar, kolkata all prone to earth quakes. No wonder why navy choose vizag as eastern naval command.

ARYA
After Akshardham, Ayush University eyeing Port City VISAKHAPATNAM: The Simhachalam Temple land seems to be in demand. After the BAPS Swaminarayan authorities expressed interest in setting up an Akshardham temple in the Port City on land near Simhachalam temple, now the AP health department is also toying with the idea of setting up the state's first Ayush University on Simhachalam Hill if they get adequate land. Both, the Simhachalam temple executive officer (EO) and endowments department official Ramachandra Mohan as well as AP Ayush commissioner D Nalinimohan confirmed the development. While the proposed Akshardham Temple has asked for 10 acres, the proposed Ayush (Alternative System of Medicine - Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) University would require at least 100 acres and will include an Ayurveda-YogaNaturopathy Hospital and research centres besides training institutes for nurses and paramedics. D Nalinimohan, state commissioner, Ayush, said, "We have sent a proposal to the state government about the university and the health minister is quite supportive of the project. However, we are awaiting official permission and are in the process of identifying suitable land. In this regard, we had asked Simhachalam temple EO for temple land and he has expressed his willing ness for the same. But we need a minimum of 100 acres for the Ayush University, Hospital and Research Centre." Explaining why Visakhapatnam would be a suitable place for Ayush University, the commissioner averred, "Vizag is an educational and intellectual hub and the environment is congenial for academics and research. If the health and research project comes up in Vizag, it will benefit patients from neighbouring states and adjacent districts. However, Tirupati too has a lot of land and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has a lot of money and can partner with us. So, that option is also open but we would definitely like to have the project in the Port City, which is ideal as a learning hub." Confirming the news about the proposed Ayush University eyeing Simhachalam land, the temple's EO Ramachandra Mohan said the project is in its initial phase and that they have received some queries from the Ayush commissioner, who recently visited the temple and is searching for a suitable parcel of land. Meanwhile, three new projects are also underway at Simhachalam, including the second Ghat Road, tonsuring Queue Complex and a 100 KW solar power plant. Elaborating, the EO said, "The Second Ghat Road, connecting the BRTS Road to the Hill Temple, will be completed within six months. It will reduce the distance between Simhachalam Temple and Vizag city by four km as well as reduce traffic congestion. Secondly, a Queue Complex has been proposed in the temple premises exclusively for devotees performing the tonsuring ritual. Daily, 5003,000 devotees tonsure their heads and offer their hair to the lord. A 100 KW solar power plant too for the temple too has been proposed to the endowments commissioner." Meanwhile, excise minister Kollu Ravindra is scheduled to visit Kerala on May 4 to study the model followed by the state government to finalise the new liquor policy by May 15.
