2STATES REVIEW BY FILMY TIME

This gen’s popular writer “Chetan Bhagath” is back again! But this time, it is not in the form of a fictitious novel, but a movie! Chetan’s “Two States” went viral across the nation and now it is the turn of movie. Abhishek Verman adopted this romantic novel to turn into a beautifulmovie on screen. Shankar Ehsaan Loy gave the music for this romantic entertainer and Karan Johar produced this film. Arjun Kapoor of “Gunday” fame and “Alia Bhat” of highway paired up in this film. The film has been released worldwide this morning. To know whether Abhishek succeeded in bringing this hit novel on screen, go through the review below.

Story: Arjun Kapoor plays a Punjabi boy who hails from Delhi while Alia plays a Tamilian from Chennai. Both of them meet each other in IIM-A, a prestigious college in India. In due course both of them love each other. The main plot begins when both of them settle in their jobs and decide to get married. How they overcome cultural and traditional hindrances to hold each other’s hands forms the main theme.

Performances: Arjun Kapoor finally gave a versatile performance. His earlier hits, Ishaqzaade and Gunday potrayed him in massy roles. Two states finally gave him a clean image. He excelled in his performance. Alia Bhat rocked as a typical south Indian girl. Variations in her accent could be clearly seen. Amrita singh rocks the show as a typical Punjabi mother. All the other cast Ronit Roy, Shiv Kumar, Revathy performed adequate.

• Slow paced second half when compared to first.

Analysis : Excellent promotion for the film all over India raked terrific openings for the film in all areas. Abhishek succeded in adapting the bookish plot well. The main plot remains connected with lives of many young individuals. Director succeeded in depicting the usual differences that arise when two individuals of different cultures and traditions get married.

Verdict :

2 States….Well…watch it..!! Many of the present generation people will love it for sure.. They will see themselves or their own love stories on the screen..Go for it this weekend and have fun for 2 and a half hours..with the cultures clash of 2 states..
