Sardaar Gabbar Singh Movie Review

STORY: Rowdy Rathore cum Chulbul Pandey, cop Gabbar Singh (Pawan Kalyan as more of Veeru from Sholay than Gabbar) rides horses, sings songs, dances and shoots bullets in the air aimlessly. He ogles at the village girls clad in choli-ghagra and flirts with princess Arshi (Kajal Aggarwal), who faints in his arms every time. A dashing villain Bhairavsingh (Sharad Kelkar), eyes the princess and tortures the villagers. He intends to seize their land for mining. Can the Robin Hood Gabbar save the day?

REVIEW: Before the fans of Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan accuse 'Bollywood critics' of being unfair, you must know this is the review of a Telugu film dubbed in Hindi. So technically, this is not Pawan Kalyan's Bollywood debut.

 

Dubbed versions often evoke unintentional humour stemming from bizarre translation. Likewise, the dialogues are the only fun element here. For instance, the villain threatens the hero by saying, "Tumhe maarna mere liye itna aasan hai jaise chai mein sugar cube dalna." There's more. He refuses to meet Gabbar for a strange reason. He believes, "Woh Ek 'employee' hai Aur aise insane ko Milna Humara insult hoga." The jobless princess, who wanders around in pretty clothes, proudly tells her nanny, "Mujhe ek mard ne bachaya tha" (referring to Kalyan). The hero too spouts gems like, "Mere jaisa ladka tumhe Google pe bhi nahi Milega."

Like a true power star, Kalyan makes a heroic entry (he rides a horse in slowmo with his name in capital letters being flashed alongside on the screen). You immediately assume that this will be yet another masala potboiler made to please the masses. However, things go downhill from there.

The movie puts you to sleep despite its loud execution with its yawn-worthy monotonous shenanigans. While the fans can still overlook it, the major drawback of the film is its length. Running for almost three hours, the tedious film is infested with never-ending songs that test your patience. Lack of story is the final nail in the coffin.

To sum it all, Gabbar says "main Jo bhi bolta hu woh FIR bunjata hai." Like the dialogue, this supposed comedy seems equally inconsequential. Whatever Kalyan says or does seems to have become a feature film.

By now, you all must have see the hungama that has happened today..no, least of my intent to do so but when being dragged into controversy consistently, Inhad nonother option other than to respond. 

I did not troll @vendettaa neither her accomplices. As usual, I was ranting on TDP like I do always and out of thin air, 10’a of threads started and all of them had one thing in common, to abuse me. 

@vendettaa has joined and lead this pack of abusers, saying that I have trolled her for her non-cooperation 2.5 years back. 

So, Do anyone take things personal and abuse for getting trolled ? 

And followed by it, those ID’s which I believe have been banned multiple times during the day, have been calling up with other ID’s and continuing the same rant and abuse on me. 

I don’t need to tell you guys about the abusive language used. 

I can still take it easy , forget and ignore and get ahead but the same set of people have constant been following me in every thread and post and continuing their rant. 

I tried to ignore them, but then again decided to hit them back hard in the way they understand. 

The result, threads are sobering and getting polluted. Topics are being diverted and conversations have been getting murkier and dirtied with the kind of words being used. 

Now, what should be the best step forward in such cases ?
