Yes witnessed many people ...  bad attitude, negative perception, jealosy, over possessiveness..  few qualities you get by birth. No matter how you mould a person, you cant get rid of these from them...

so all these qualities are genetic? and the person has no control over them, you are saying.

Result : Drugs, crime, teenage pregnancies, late settlement in life etc.,

Chinna vayasu loney kadha anni nerpinchaalsindhi.... vaallaki ishtam lekapoyina konni cheyyinchaali kadha kachithanga ? I somehow feel like indian parenting is better although it has its own set of flaws...

lol..typical desi mindset adii...India lo kids ki elagu aa torture tappadu..atleast the lucky kids in US can do what they want to.

Its better to teach kids to be curious, creative, persistent, competitive etc, than to teach them how to be nice.

If the parents are nice, kids mostly will be.

Its both ways. Some grow over time, some fade over time, few come by birth and remain forever...  %$#$

Btw, you didn't explain what "Parents suck" mean

Saying fcuk, showing middle finger are all okay. That's what the kids deal with everyday in their world. If the parents are so picky about how their kids should grow, they should put them in private school.

Anyway, that has nothing to do with how successful kids will turn out. If the kids are inquisitive, hard working, smart, they'll turn out okay. Who cares if on their way to success, they show a million middle fingers to others.

spot on....

punishing kids is the worst sin... parents should try to understand from kid's perspective about what they are dealing with daily, and always pump some sanity to them to help them overcome from their problems.

First ask yourself, do you deserve to have kids? Do you treat people nicely? Are you an asshole? etc.

and then proceed. clueless people should be banned from having kids. @3$%

Assholes cannot be stopped from having kids anyway. So we'll just have to cross our fingers and hope that their children will realise parent's assholery, and forge their own moral path.

Defining gentle Spanking is tough, but it means that no serious physical hurt to kid.

But the key is "Your kid should have the fear that he will get spanked, if he does not behave", that will keep him in check.

I think kids, knowingly or unknowingly, imitate their parents in most aspects..so if we want our kids to be a good citizens, then it should start with us.

and with helping your kid find the right environment where he/she can flourish. It can be music classes, Maker spaces, reading clubs, sports clubs, etc.

parents should put in some work, beyond bringing home a paycheck.

For people who can't, we can always adopt a dog.

No matter how right you are, You cannot work with others if you have bad attitude... In the present day world, its very very important...

Success isn't everything. We have seen most succesful popstars, movie stars & sports heroes leading and ending their life miserably... with no meaning for their success & wealth  %$#$

Desis is changing a lot.... Parents encourage if you have passion and if you are exceptional at anything. That mostly will be discovered much before you get into 20s. If there isn't anything, why not go for conventional job thingies... ?

kids who are socially confident, don't have a bad attitude. They have their own standards for what is accepted behaviour in their groups.

Someone 30yrs older may not agree to that standards, but they work.

If you let your kid join the local gang, then obviously he's going to have a bad attitude. But someone who spends his time in movie clubs, reading clubs, politic clubs, will have strong views, which can be mistaken as attitude.

Also, kids don't have to be nice to their parents.

You can see plenty of well behaved music stars, and sports people too. In fact, most of them are well behaved, but the brats get all the attention.
