Well, if you love finance, then its a huge world and ample opportunities...ou need to be adept,fast,swift..and passionate..

But we could break the barrier and get into the world of financing, You would only be talking of mutual funds, hedge funds, investors, finance firms, growth, bonds, etc..and million would be a very small world in a day to day life..

More than my love for finance, I just want to get away from IT.

Sick of this IT stuff. Unless I move to some strategic IT position, I don't see any future in IT.

if u go into coding and handling data..then u will be in IT and will be pissed off most time- because the innumerable number of tables they arranged for each clause in requirement are long and u hav to know them...or u will learn them the hardway(prod failure)

if u go into analysis-data research, first u hav to know why a certain thing is in certain way, how is it helping the data we are reporting. if u get interest in these things, u will get oppositions from reporting managers or supervisors, but u will learn stuff and thru analysis if u legitimately found a better solution u will be appreciated. you can move on to other facades of banking operations to perform similar search and can hav contacts with PMs, Architects etc., communication, presentation, talk to point are required but also kanthriness, looking over your shoulder type qualities are required too

you can hav growth if u become an SME- subject matter expert. ( any question asked about a product - you should be able to answer). by creating products- Analyst, by pitching ideas to improve data quality-product owner, by establishing a platform for operations on data- IT...you will have growth.

another easier way of growth is to keep changing firms and take it all in to settle at one place at certain time.
