Pakistan Army carries out unprovoked rocket and mortar firing on forward posts along the LoC in Poonch

Indian Army on Monday accused Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) of mutilating bodies of two of their soldiers on two forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district's Krishna Ghati sector.

The Pakistan Army carried out unprovoked rocket and mortar firing on two forward posts along the LoC and simultaneously launched BAT action on a patrol operating in between the posts, said a statement issued by the Northern Army Command.

In an unsoldierly act, the bodies of two soldiers were mutilated by the Pakistan Army. Such despicable act of Pakistan Army will be appropriately responded, it added.

The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Prem Sagar of 200th Battalion of the BSF and Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh of 22 Sikh Regiment of the Army. "Another constable from the BSF also sustained injury, but is out of danger," a BSF spokesman said.

"It was a pre-planned operation of Pakistan army. They had pushed in BATs over 250 metres deep inside Indian territory and set up ambushes for a long period to carry out the attack," a senior Army officer said.

As per reports, at 0825 hours, Pakistani Army's 647 Mujahid Battalion targeted India's forward post 'Kirpan' from its post 'Pimple' in Krishna Ghati sector.

It was followed by attack on another forward post in the same area.

"They attacked with rockets a forward BSF post (which lies) ahead of the fencing and opened heavy fire from automatic weapons. They violated the ceasefire," a BSF officer said.

"It is an attack directly hitting a posts (listening post)", he said.

Indian troops retaliated and the firing continued for some time intermittently.

Were they mutilated after they were killed, or were they mutilated and killed? They mutilated, tortured and killed Saurabh Kalia and 6 other soldiers back in 1999 Kargil time, remember?
