According to various news reports, President Trump is likely to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. DACA is a program that provides travel and work authorization to qualifying undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children. The program was implemented in 2012 by then President Obama.

During the presidential campaign, Mr. Trump pledged to swiftly eliminate the program. But, after the election, his stance on the DACA program appeared to soften and he implied that his administration would find a compassionate solution for DACA recipients. The news reports today, however, indicate that President Trump now plans on following through on this campaign pledge.

The Murthy Law Firm will continue to closely monitor this developing story. An update will be posted on MurthyDotCom as soon any official word on the fate of the DACA program is released.
