in most of the prime areas salaried coolies cant buy unless they leverage themselves badly

It doesn't make sense for salaried coolies aka IT coolies in US to buy those over inflated shitty houses either.

So makes even more sense to not buy those houses.

all this US NRI investing in real estate started with the Y2K batch with their high billings buying plots in jubilee hills/ hitech city which multiplied 10 - 20 times. Now we neither have the savings nor the plots are in our reach to speculate

Yup it was a very short bubble, mostly Y2K cargo batch over inflating real estate in India so high that no one else can afford it now.

Y2K batch luckiest batch in the universe, no tech skills, no communication skills, no email compiling skills, yet high billings, overtimes, paid accommodation and rental cars, plus easy citizenships and mestri dhandhas.

ippudu manam konali antey okka chinna plot kooda raadu entha save sesina.

Here is how my friend did it. He lives in NJ close to NYC which means there is high demand for people looking for temporary accommodation. So he bought a house, which is bit on higher end but is multi-family home. He gave 1 st floor to one family and he kept 2nd floor to himself. Most people stop here. But this guy didn't.

Out of the 3 bedrooms, he is renting out 2 bedrooms through Airbnb. Basically, his contribution is zero for mortgage. Everything comes from tenants. All this is maintained by his wife who is on h4 EAD. If we do enough research and find the location, not that hard to find property that breaks even the mortgage from the rent of tenants.
