you can only go through Frankfurt (lufthansa & co) with expired stamp, in Europe

else, go through middle east or book direct flight to India

Don;t mislead with wrong suggestions.

In the case of expired H1 Visa, British airways will not allow you to board, if you don't have tranist visa . Period.

Yes you cannot transit through London if your US visa is expired. Go to the UK govt website which will clearly explain the steps on how to apply for a transit or tourist visa.

Hi,

I am travelling from US to India, a layover in London and I have a Indian passport with expired H1b visa stamp and I have an approved I797. Is it true that I need a transit visa travelling through London/Paris?  Does it depends on layover time? If transit visa is required what is the procedure and How long would it take to get Transit visa? costs?

if travelling via Europe... U need US visa though u leaving the US and visiting home country... Its their law... Esp british vaaadu aithe inka ghoram ninnu US airport lo nee aaapesthaadu... neeeku valid US visa ledhu so we cant check in you ani....idhem logic nenu US nunchi INDIA velthunna ga INDIA nunchi US vasthe appudu meeeru valid visa choodali ga ani manam anukuntaam... but thats not the case....

So better avoid via Europe...esp british airways

wrong transit visa kaaadhu we should clearly let them know that US visa expired.. it doesnt matter if i797 approved or valid.. all they need is stamp on your passport with valid US visa when u boarding from US airports...

YES WHEN U BOARDING FROM US AIRPORTS YOU NEED TO HAVE VALID US VISA destination country doesnt matter ikkkada....

THe above applicable when travelling via EUROPE... layover unnnnaa lekapoyinaaa....
