bhaiya vanguard requires permanent citizenship status for opening account ani vere forums lo chadiva.. is it true? were you able to open a account with them? leak pothe do you have brokerage account with a different provider like fidelity and buy vanguard funds through there?

Vanguard requires you to be a tax resident not permanent resident...

Uscis and IRS have different definitions of residency....uscis odi basha lo resident ante GC occhinodu...IRS odi basha lo sustantial presence test pass aythe resident ee ....google for "IRS Substantial Presence Test" and see if you are a resident.

yes...what are your questions?

once you invest in them, do you do active trading? selling and buying based on market fluctuations?

Lekapothe you just keep 20 or 30k in the funds you believe and be idle for it to grow and cash out when you meet your desired rate of return?

do we get dividends paid in Index funds?

Index fund VS ETF's? which one is better for beginners?

No active trading...Passive investment..invest and forget...fluctuations occhinappudu sit tight and don't let your emotions drive you...

Index funds pay dividends..not as much as dividend portfolio's though...you have to file tax returns for dividends unless you are buying them in IRA or 401K.

Both are same...ETF is when you would like to invest smaller than the fund minimum amount..ETF lo esko if it's not  401k...
