I am personally against distributing free money . Will rather perfer government providing interest free loans , crop insurance etc.

Most of the these lands are leased to poor farmers , and with this scheme only owners are getting money.

But seems to be a master stroke by KCR government. They are getting lot of positive press.

I strongly disagree.

Prathi nakodukki business/start ups pette freedom undhi, Land lease is also a type of business , its an understanding/agreement between land owner and Lease holder. So, any benefits must go to business owner, inka evadiki stake ledhu. Ee #maggavale edhava greediness thaginchukunte manchidhi...

No one denying rights to land owners. But this scheme was meant to help farmers. My point was this wont help poor farmers who do not have lands and lease from rich land owners.

Over 4.3 lakh ryots get Rythu Bandhu cheques in TS

The revenue department had opened special counters in every village along with the pattadar passbook and cheque distribution counters to support ‘Give it up’ programme.

Farmers showing their Pattadar Passbooks at Rythu Bandhu launch programme

Hyderabad: The revenue administration reached out to 4,36,182 farmers with Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks on Saturday, Day 3 of the week-long special drive. Villages came alive with teams of revenue officials accompanied by elected representatives and other prominent leaders of the Assembly constituencies concerned, delivering the farm input assistance cheques as well as new passbooks at the doorsteps of farmers.

As many as 3,128 villages were covered under the special programme on Saturday alone, thus taking the total number of villages covered in the first three days of the drive to 4,36,182. In all 7,80,641 farmers received the new passbooks from the revenue teams in the presence of either their MPs, MLAs, MLCs or other local body representatives. Passbooks being delivered at their doorsteps is altogether a new experience for many of the farmers.

It is a moment of big celebration for some beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu cheques as they are in the twilight of their life and such a help coming forth from the government is the first-of-its-kind experience. The banks are expecting a big rush of farmers from Monday for encashing their cheques. The cheques received by the farmers on Saturday and Sunday could not be deposited in the banks on account of holidays. At some places, a few well-to-do farmers voluntarily offered to return the investment support amount to the State government.

The revenue department had opened special counters in every village along with the pattadar passbook and cheque distribution counters to support ‘Give it up’ programme.

‘Give it up’ scheme

According to officials, if someone was not in favour of encashing the Rythu Bandhu cheque and intends to support government initiative by giving back the amount he received under the scheme, they have to fill a form available at the counters for complying with the formality to return it.

A good number of farmers, who did not feel the need for such assistance have shown interest in taking part in ‘Give it up’ scheme. In some cases, a few farmers and land owners are moving one step forward and distributing the investment support scheme amount to tenant farmers.

In Nizamabad district, a host of political leaders, including the Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (30 acres), legislators Jeevan Reddy (140 acres), Bigala Ganesh Guptha (40 acres), Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy (20 acres) and other leaders returned the investment support scheme assistance to the government. Interestingly, a few government officials owning land also came forward to support “give it up” scheme.

No dearth of cash in banks

Responding positively to the request made by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Reserve Bank of India has released enough cash to eight banks which were identified by the State government for the cheque distribution scheme.

Already, some nationalized banks sent cash reserves to local branches and started encouraging encashment of cheques. The bankers assured State government officials over supply of cash for the Rythu Bandhu Scheme. On Saturday, Agriculture Principal Secretary C Parthasarathi called bankers and told them that starting Monday farmers will come in large numbers to the banks to encash cheques and asked them to send amounts to all mandal and regional banks to ensure proper transactions.

agreed. inkoncham extend chey daanni. Land owning should be banned, unless the person uses the land he owns for some productive purpose, or to live in it.

leasing is just rent seeking nonsense, living off the labour of someone else.

Ofcourse there's the problem of maintenance of this land in the event of no ownership, but that's exactly the point. Let nature flourish on lands that aren't owned.

BAN LAND OWNERSHIP. THEY ARE THE ECONOMY'S PARASITES.

land owners who don't use the land should cease to exist.

It will in turn help those farmers who work on lease, to negotiate a better lease deal next time. Btw, they are already getting benifit from the crop they grow in a land they don’t own.

Public commodities should be public man.

water, land, air (thankfully this one is not yet commercialized), internet. Nobody should be allowed to profit off of this.

land should be leased to productive people every 2yrs, in an e-auction. and people can be allowed to own the house they live in.
