Love marriages and marrying an already married man with kids was not common at that time. I think gg was not a top hero but an upcoming hero anukunta aa time

Savitri also had trouble child hood and not a perfect family. 

Love marriages and marrying a married man with kids might not be uncommon at that time...

but, a normal person getting married to a star is what every girl who has her interest in movies would have dreamt of..

GG was not a super star but pretty much established star, only behind SIvaji Ganeshan and M G Ramachandran.

Saying so, Savitri was just a normal girl and when she got a chance to get married to a star, what would stop her from doing so ?

Its purely emotional decision on her part not oppurtunism... moreover she got roles because of her talent not because he possibly might have recommended... thats a BS theory...

Manam polu mangalyam was a breakthrough film for both Savitri and GG and accelerated his career in Tamil. He was the main hero only in that movie. Migatha annitlo he was part of an ensemble cast.He only had 5-6 movies before that. Notable of which I'd Miss Malini but he was not the protagonist. Also Savitri ki first film chance GG valla vachina she flunked it majorly. She only got chances because of her dance bit in Pathala Bhairavi. Thana face kooda sarigga kanipinchadu but expressions matram clear ga kanipisthunnayi ani impress ayyi aa director evaro Devdas lo pettaru. Anthaku mundu vamp character and edho non descript movie lo 2nd heroine character chesindi. Where is GG in the equation?
