How TDP's Yuva Nestham For 18+ Is Not A Good Idea!

In a bid to woo the voters, political leaders promise even the moon, just not giving a thought to whether it would be feasible economically or if it is good or bad for the society. Aiming to secure the votes of youngsters, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is promising not only to revive the Yuva Nestham scheme but also to increase the unemployment allowance from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 per month, for all the youth attaining 18 years of age, a cut by five years from the earlier 23 years. This is being included in the party manifesto, sources in the TDP said.

The scheme is being planned to benefit even those who discontinue Intermediate. This apart, the TDP also plans to include recruitment through APPSC and release of the recruitment calendar, in the party manifesto. However, several people feel that the unemployment dole would only make the youth lazy as they are entitled for Rs 3,000 per month, even without stepping out of their house.

Further, it would also make youth not have any ambitions in their life. This, in fact, would have a debilitating effect on the country as there will no innovative attitude or enthusiasm to discover new utilities among the youth, who are considered the future of a nation.

By March 31, the various government departments would prepare a list of the vacancies in their respective wings. It would be sent to the APPSC in the first week of April and the notification to fill the posts would be released. The youth will also be given sufficient time to prepare for the competitive exams.

TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is of the opinion that the youth need not depend on their parents for their expenses, if the dole is increased to Rs. 3,000 from the earlier Rs. 2,000. The TDP is also planning to give them training in the skills required to be acquired for technical jobs, to improve chances of their induction into jobs. The induction of youth into various government jobs is also expected to bring new vigour and freshness into the government sector, to help them serve the people better.

It has also been decided to include implementation of fee reimbursement for all the students, including those from the general category (or OCs). The CM has also decided to increase the allocation of pocket expenses heavily to all those accommodated in the welfare schools and colleges. He has also decided to extend the digital classroom facility to all the government schools.

There are approximately 50,000 government schools in the states and if digital classrooms are provided in them, children would be ready to face the modern world. All these proposals would be included in the party manifesto, sources said. Looks like these measures will not only cost AP economically, but also rob the students of their career goals. Before this becomes a grave state-sponsored mistake, the TDP needs to look into this issue very seriously!
