Hyderabad: How ironical can it get! The Hyderabad Metro Rail, which does not even allow cameras to be carried in the Metro trains, seem to have remained mute spectators to a group of youngsters who launched a flash mob dance in support of Malkajgiri Congress candidate A Revanth Reddy, on board a train on Friday.

Sporting Revanth Reddy masks, the group broke into a flash mob seeking votes for the Congress candidate, even as commuters wore an amused look.

 

There have been complaints in the past that the security guards at the Metro stations do not allow passengers to board the train if they carried a camera. The Metro authorities had declared that photography was strictly prohibited at Metro stations and in the trains. Security guards have been seen asking people carrying cameras not to carry them openly.

When one commuter who was stopped because he had a camera, pointed out that good quality pictures can be taken with mobile phones, which are allowed on the train, the guard did not have any answer.

The current case of flash dance did not seem to have attracted the attention of the authorities. That they filmed the entire sequence and posted it boldly on social media platforms speaks volumes about the selective imposition of rules by Metro authorities.

Will the authorities respond to the blatant misuse of Metro for electioneering purposes?
