Trump, who previously stated that windmill noise "causes cancer," continued his longstanding opposition to the structure during Thursday's campaign rally in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Much like the mythical Cervantes character Don Quixote, President Trump harbors deep delusions about windmills, otherwise known as wind turbines. Trump has been consistently antagonistic towards wind farms and wind energy in general, most recently making the completely unsubstantiated claim that the noise—the noice—from wind turbines can cause cancer. (It does do not). But Trump's latest claims are just the tip of the iceberg. His bizarre crusade against wind energy has been going on for more than 20 years, starting all the way back in 2006, when he revolted against the Scottish government for trying to install a wind farm near his  Aberdeenshire golf resort. He told Scottish parliament that "wind turbines, made in China, are going to be the destruction...almost a total destruction...of your tourism industry."  Tourism isn't the only issue Trump is concerned about when it comes to wind farms, though. Over the years, he's made claims that at the bottom of windmills there are "thousands" of dead birds (Mic.com reported that Trump's skyscrapers kill way more birds than wind turbines), and he's said they're "ugly, noisy, and dangerous." Another big claim Trump continues to make is that wind farms drive property values down. The New York Times calledthis "unlikely."  Trump failed to get the Scottish wind farm from being installed near his gold resort, and it seems that, since then, he's been raging against the concept of wind energy relentlessly.
