What's the point of religion in the first place?

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful." Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Hinduism is more spiritual and less religious.

Abrahamic religions are like MNCs propagating their religion, killing the competition, joining bonus like heaven and 72 virgins, if you leave religion you are punished by death. Following set of rules blindly etc.

Hinduism has evolved from 1000s of years and still surviving so it's hard to define. You can never get into contact with a brahmin and still be a hindu. Saying that"  brahmins forced this onto others and called Hinduism"  is utter bullshit. I'd rather use the word ignorance, ignorance with a hint of hatred and jealousy.

you have no idea what hinduism is. Hinduism is exactly the same as any abrahamic religion, and was propagated all over india in exactly similar ways.

ofcourse there were long periods of debates between different brahmins and buddhists to add some colour to the dull vedic religion, and those at the top were the missionaries of hindu religion.

it was called the bhakti movement.

i didnot hear any theory so far to say Hinduism was propagated man. If it was why dont we see that trend now? unlike all other abrahamic religions.  All i see defense from other religions.  Also, if it was propagated we wouldnt see any other religion to come to our land rather we  would have seen it spread  across other countries in the world.  Hinduism is not a religion because in india alone north to south people follow different things. It was a just name given to land  & because of indus valley. Name of the land not of religion.

Point of religion is more  to deal with psychological consoling factor where you know everything will be fine inspite of all of the hardships that one thinks he/she is facing and one can blindly believe & depend on that god/thing will take care of things for you.

Hinduism is a culture, a way of life, not an organized religion like Islam or Christianity. Hinduism is man's relentless search after truth.
