First, if you don't understand something, don't speak, only exposes your ignorance. Fact is, India does not want any trade agreement with US. With recent changes, Trump has cost India some 5 Billion dollars at best. If we make the trade agreement, we are going to let in companies which will completely run over Indian companies. The Indian govt strategy is NOT to have a trade deal, It is to keep stalling every deal until our own companies are able to at least compete. This is an old game & we are very good at playing this game. Btw, this has nothing to do with Modi. This tactic has been in place for 2 decades now. Now what Modi achieved with his US visit, well, primary point was the annual US convention, which as head of state he had to visit. Second to warm idiotic democrats that Indian votes should not be taken for granted. Go and check the Democratic primaries. After Modi's visit, many democrats who held anti-India views are getting screwed by Indian groups. Same as with UK Labor party, which has been boycotted by Indian diaspora. This becomes important if you understand the fact Indians overwhelmingly vote for Democrats and Labor. This warning shot in US and UK has shaken the status quo.
