The response to ‘A Brick’, portal calling upon people to donate e-bricks for the construction of Capital Amaravati has been tremendous and those interested in contributing to the Capital should use the portal-www.amaravati.gov.in, Joint Collector Ch. Sridhar said in a press release here on Saturday.

Dr. Sridhar said that the donations had touched Rs.1.37 crore within less than two days since the initiative was launched by the CM in Vijayawada. People can purchase e brick by paying Rs.10 for each brick and the names of donors would be captured in a capsule. He also appealed to the people not to send bricks and instead use the web portal to buy bricks.

On Friday, an enthusiastic businessman from Guntur Aluru Koteswara Rao donated 1.06 lakh bricks for the construction of Capital. Most of land owners in the CRDA region have no access to internet. The district officials later clarified that the bricks ought to be bought only in a portal.

The JC further said that every land owner who had given their lands in Land Pooling Scheme would be invited with a dhoti, sari, sweet packet and an invitation card. There are about 16,000 farmers within the CRDA region and the process of extending invitations to them would be completed by October 19.

On October 19 evening, people from different parts of the state would assemble opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University with the `kalasalamulu’ carrying soil and water from all the 13 districts. On October 20, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would flag off the ‘Sankalpa Yatra,’ from the ANU premises.
