Afghanistan presidential election candidate rejects results and forms own cabinet

With 39.52% of the vote according to Afghanistan's Independent Election Commission (IEC), candidate Abdullah Abdullah is disputing the results, declaring himself the winner "based on transparent and biometric votes" and vowing to form an "inclusive" government. The IEC announced earlier that President Ashraf Ghani won the election with 50.64% of the total.
