India Covid-19 Data Highlights

Here are today’s coronavirus data highlights

– 1,17,100 new cases, 302 new deaths, 30,836 new recoveries, 85,962 rise in active cases

– New cases highest in 216 days. More than 1 lakh for the first time in 214 days

– Active cases 3,71,363. Highest in 116 days

– Maharashtra reports 36,265 new cases, West Bengal 15,421, Delhi 15,097

– Kerala reports 221 new deaths (204 backlog), West Bengal 19, Maharashtra 13

– All 36 and states/UTs report rise in active cases

– Difference between new cases reported in the last 7 days and the preceding 7 days in India is +486% (world average is +65%)

– 94.47 lakh new vaccinations. 149.67 crore total. 23.38 lakh 81+ population received their first dose yesterday, 32.09 lakh second dose. 38.99 lakh in 15-18 year-olds received their first dose. 62.39 crore fully vaccinated

– 15.13 lakh new tests. All-India test positivity rate: 7.74% (6.43% the previous day)

– All-India test positivity rate highest in 221 days

– Daily test positivity rate: West Bengal 24.71%, Maharashtra 21.28%, Goa 20.47%, Delhi 15.34%

– Test positivity rate (weekly average): West Bengal 19.88%, Goa 15.21%, Maharashtra 12.21%

– Total coronavirus cases worldwide cross the 300 million mark
